Tigresses put up a good fight against Eagles in Semis Game 1

ULTRA (05/14/13) Offense won over defense as the Eagles proved to be too powerful for the Tigresses in their first meeting for the best-of-three semifinals.

The Tigresses showed so much confidence and composure in the first set while the Eagles played a scrappy defense leading to a score of 20-25. Alyssa Valdez was only able to come up with 1 point in the whole set.

The second set showed the resurrection of the Eagles as the deadly trio of Valdez, Bualee and Daquis led them to a convincing victory, 25-15.

The third set will surely be one for the books. UST looked poised to win it with the score at 22-24 but again, the offensive power of the Eagles came alive ending the well-fought set at 29-27 with Cainglet silently contributing points behind the deadly trio.

The fourth set was just painful to watch. The Tigresses obviously lost heart giving up early with a score of 25-14. They were just not playing their A-game.

Although errors let Ateneo lose the first set, their steady service and attacks gave them sweet victory in the succeeding sets.
