What many people thought would be an easy win became the biggest and only loss of NU so far this V-league season. The Lady Falcons' almost perfect floor defense came to play giving the underdogs an amazing 5-set victory 22-25, 25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 15-13.
Errors caused major trouble on the part of the Santiago-led squad while fiery performances from Benting, Soriano and Pineda let the Falcons take off early in the best of three semifinals series.
Angela Benting was the player of the game with 28 points out of 25 attacks, 2 blocks and 1 serve.
This loss will surely be a factor in NU's confidence. The team, known to be young and new to big games like this has been gaining confidence with their unblemished record. But will this sudden loss destroy that hard-gained confidence?
Kudos to the Lady Falcons. They always give a great fight no matter who the opponent is.
